
Introduction
Produced by Zhejiang TV, The Third Season of The Shape of Culture is a TV show promoting China's World Heritage Sites. The show reveals the stories behind these heritage sites through interactions with local scholars and experts.
After its broadcast, the program achieved the highest viewership ratings in 2023. I was responsible for design of the title sequence. I independently designed all the storyboards and assisted in the final video production.
Preliminary Sketches


The sequence shifts from a close-up of the bricks of the Jiankou Great Wall, emphasizing its steep and perilous nature (camera angle changing from an upward to a level view). It then transitions through the Jiankou Great Wall to the Grand Canal of Dezhou, navigating from the main stream through a lock gate to a tributary.

Transitioning to Fuzhou's alleys, capturing local customs and daily life, showcasing the traditional lifestyle.

The camera continues along the river to Kaifeng, where It blends ancient bridges from Along the River During the Qingming Festival with modern scenes, showcasing the fusion of past and present.

The porcelain patterns transform into Hualien flowers from the Macao region.

Transitioning from petals to the apricot forest in the Confucius Temple. The scene shifts to a stream in the apricot forest, with people casually sitting.


The camera transitions from Fuzhou alleys to Fenghuang County, showcasing activities like batik and paper cutting.

Through the bridge arch, the scene transitions to a close-up of porcelain to showcase the characteristics of the Longquan Kiln.

Overhead view of the lotus turning into a level perspective, the lotus rotates.

The camera continues along the stream, entering Qanat (with beams of light inside).
