Introduction
"Design Like a BOSS," a design competition for international students. The competition, themed "Moments of Studying Abroad," invited students from around the world to design reusable canvas bags.
Boss Zhipin is China's most popular job-seeking platform. The goal of this project is to attract the attention of international students worldwide through a competition, increase the brand's exposure and influence, and encourage the creativity of young people to make a positive impact on society. The project runs from September 2022 to February 2023, and I was in charge of visual design.
This project can be divided into different stages: recruitment of participants, selection of contestants and preparation for curation, curation, and post-event documentation. I was involved throughout the project and designed the promotional materials, curation materials, and a commemorative booklet.
Recruitment of Participants
Oct 25th - Nov 15th 2022
Our team shared recruitment information on social media, and I played a role in creating visual materials. I emphasized the appealing prizes and exhibition opportunities of the project to engage international students.

I'm in charge of the UI design: structured the information and presented it based on the competition description, trying to be appealing to larger groups of target.
Illustration invitation posted on Red Book

I conveyed an example of "Moments of Studying Abroad" in illustration to further engage the audiences. Our team used it as an invitation and posted on Red Book to recruit paticipants.
With the collaborative efforts, we ultimately received 574 submissions in three weeks.
Curation Preparation
Nov 16th - Dec 17th 2022
The exhibition of the Top 10 students' works took place in Richard Taittinger Gallery in New York. I was stuck in China due to the epidemic. However, I supported the curation by collaboratively designing curation materials such as handbook, stickers, decorations.
Handbook to guide exhibition visitors

I collaboratively designed the handbook with another designer, to introduce the competition and contestants, list the partnerships, curator, staffs, and to invite them vote for the best work among 10.

Stickers for interaction

We designed the stickers based on previous elements, allowing audiences to vote for works they like and also to bring back some suvenoirs.

Cardboards of Awards
These cardboards functioned as both award prop and photo props, aiming to grant nominated contestants sense of accomplishment.

Certificates

We designed certificates for judges and honored contestants, to complete the ceremony of the design competition.

Booklet
Based on the documented material (photo, texts, etc.), I reorganized the information and designed a booklet individually, to retrospect and represent the whole process of the competition.

BOSS Zhipin then published the booklet and handed to the top 10 contestants, judges, and major attendants of the competition.
